The 1935 Presidential elections were held for the first time since the revolutionary government during the Philippine revolution. It was set to elect the President and Vice President positions.
During the Philippine Commonwealth, we were headed by governor-generals appointed by US Presidents.
The presidential candidates were Senate President Manuel L. Quezon with running mate Sergio Osmeña, Emilio Aguinaldo with running mate Raymundo Melliza, and Gregorio Aglipay (of the Aglipayan Church) with running mate Norberto Nabong.
Pascual Racuyal, a local from Cebu, also ran as independent.
Quezon and Osmeña won by a landslide.
